5 Great Road Trip Tips

So you have decided to go on a road trip? How fun! Road trips are one of my family's favorite things to do together. Sometimes a great vacation is about the journey and not just the destination right? You want to make sure you have a great time and don't stress while on your road trip and I want to help with these great 5 great road trip tips! 

Here are my 5 great road trip tips: 

1. Be prepared! Before you head out on your trip make a list of all of the things you will need for your trip. Any snacks, comfort items (pillows, blankets,etc), entertainment (c.ds, tablets, etc), and most importantly a road safety kit equipped with jumper cables, road flares, and a spare tire! 

2. Bring a map, and know how to use it! I know most of us have our phones or a GPS but you never know when you might not have service or something might happen to your GPS. A paper map is always a good thing to have and can mean the difference between a smooth trip and getting very, very lost. 

3.  Purchase items you will need before you leave. Grabbing a cooler and lots of drinks and snacks, as well as any medicine you might need will not only cut down on how many stops you make, but it will ensure some money saved since you won't be paying those gas station prices! 

4.  Don't forget about having some fun on the way! Before you leave on your trip, map out your course and see if there are any fun roadside attractions on the way. Some of the best memories we have from taking road trips are fun attractions we stopped for on the way there! 

5.  Do your research! Before you leave hop online and check out deals on lodging and where the cheapest places to find gas are going to be. Your wallet will thank you, and the more money you save the more money you can spend on the fun stuff!
